I would like to dust off a discussion I brought up earlier in the season regarding the Buccaneers. Buccaneers are essentially pirates; as I previously mentioned, they would struggle in a battle against several Falcons. But this Sunday night, they face off against the Cowboys, who are outlaws who travel by horseback. Their attitudes are similar to that of pirates, but they hold an extreme disadvantage should the two groups ever face off. If the Cowboys tried to mount an attack on the pirates, they would struggle due to their lack of aquatic vessels. And on the gridiron, I expect the Cowboys to be at an extreme disadvantage as well.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5) @ Dallas Cowboys, O/U 48.5
We’re met again with another two teams late in the season going in opposite directions. The Cowboys, although they’ve shown fight recently, are likely facing another lost season. They’re still rolling out a backup quarterback with an overall underperforming team and shoddy coaching. Meanwhile, the Bucs have taken control of their division and are on a warpath toward the playoffs. One slip-up and they could potentially let the Falcons back into the division race. That hasn’t stopped Baker Mayfield from doing his typical gunslinging, and they’ve been rewarded for it.
In this specific matchup, I expect the Bucs offense to be too much for Dallas’ defense to handle. They hung 40 points on the best-scoring defense in the league last week and they’re getting healthy at the perfect time. The Bucs should roll here and become one step closer to punching their playoff ticket. The Bucs are just in a different class than the Cowboys at this point in time.
Pick: Tampa Bay -4.5
But I Want To Back The Cowboys
Simply a mistake at this time. However, there is one Cowboy I could see finding success in this game. All season, Dallas has been trying to find an identity for their rushing attack. They laughed Tony Pollard out of town last offseason and then struggled out of the gate to find a suitable replacement. They’ve finally come to terms with the fact that Ezekial Elliot is too old to be playing football, so now Rico Dowdle has taken over the backfield. Although he’s been formidable on the ground down the stretch, he has been a large part of the passing game as well.
Cooper Rush is no Dak Prescott, so he is forced to rely on his safety blanket more often than not. This has come to fruition through dump-offs to Rico Dowdle. When he has no options deep down the field, Cooper Rush has been finding Dowdle leaking out of the backfield. I expect this to be the case as they’re chasing the Bucs’ offensive prowess late in the game.
Pick: Rico Dowdle Over 14.5 Receiving Yards
