Week 11 Sunday Night Trash Pile: The Main Course to a Delicious Day of Football

The NFL’s Week 11 slate is highlighted by a bunch of 7+ win teams or better facing off in some of the biggest rivalries in the sport. The Eagles vs. the Commanders, the Bills and the Chiefs, and, of course, the Ravens heading to Pittsburgh. However, those teams all feature strong defenses and will be played tight. They may get ugly, and the offenses could be in for a rough day.

But on Sunday Night Football, we may have the best game of them all. The Chargers and the Bengals are each trying to prove they belong in the upper echelon of the AFC, and they get the chance to make another point in their respective cases on a massive stage. I’m salivating.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Los Angeles Chargers (-1.5), O/U 47.5

These teams are butting heads under completely different circumstances. The Bengals stumbled out of the gate, lost some torturously close games to the Ravens, and now Joe Burrow has to throw a bazillion yards to drag his underperforming team to the finish line. Meanwhile, the Chargers have only had good vibes as Jim Harbaugh has given the whole organization a complete makeover. We get to see the ones who have been there before versus the new upstart franchise.

Neither team has beaten anyone of note this season. The Bengals dropped two to the Ravens but haven’t played any great quarterbacks otherwise. The Chargers have stacked wins against the likes of Gardner Minshew, Will Levis, and Bryce Young. The unit that I think will be the biggest differentiator here is the Chargers’ defense. They’ve bought into the system and have been playing way more consistently than the Bengals have all year. That will give them the edge to win.

Pick: Los Angeles -1.5

A Prop For Your Thoughts

I hate taking unders. They’re depressing and can be lost at any moment. However, Ja’Marr Chase went for nearly 1,000 yards against the Ravens last week, truly looking like the best receiver in the NFL. But the Chargers have been way better against the pass this season than Baltimore, and with Tee Higgins back in the lineup for this game, Burrow won’t be forcing the ball to Chase every play. I hate this pick, which is probably why it’s a good pick is something people say to make themselves feel better in this situation. I just blatantly hate this pick, but it will be in my account come kickoff, so take that for what you will.

Pick: Ja’Marr Chase Under 79.5 Receiving Yards
