Super Bowl 59 Futures Trash or Treasure: Here Come the Cardinals

OK guys, we are past the halfway point. The NFL trash has floated away (thankfully), and the pretenders are slowly separating from the contenders. It’s really time for you to start laying down some bucks on who’s going to win Super Bowl 59 next February. We’ll make it easy for you. Here are the links to do so:

We wll go a step further. Here’s our list of the Treasure (worth a futures bet) and the Trash (not worth it) after Week 10:

Chiefs (9-0), Treasure: Another comeback win, another one-score win. KC is King until further notice.

Lions (8-1), Treasure: Jared Goff throws five interceptions, then leads three straight scoring drives to lead a 16-point comeback against the Texans on Sunday night. That’s how championship teams get it done.

Ravens (7-3), Treasure: Lamar Jackson seems headed toward a third NFL MVP award (Jared Goff will have something to say about that). LJ has 24 TD passes, only 2 INTs, and leads ESPN’s QBR. He and the team are driven to prove they can win a title, but we’ve got a long road ahead.

Bills (8-2), Treasure: Josh Allen and Buffalo have won three straight against the Chiefs — in the regular season. They’ve also LOST three straight in the playoffs. So, take this Sunday’s Chiefs-Bills game with a grain of salt.

Eagles (7-2), Treasure: Saquon Barkley has 991 yards and is averaging 5.8 yards per carry, which is insane. Jalen Hurts is also playing efficient football at QB. This probably is the only team that can derail the Lions in the playoffs.

49ers (5-4), Trash: Christian McCaffrey returns and has impact, Jake Moody shanks three field-goal tries, Brock Purdy plays great, Deebo Samuel picks a fight with a teammate — and SF barely beats Tampa Bay. This team has the talent, but not the discipline, to win a Super Bowl — at least as of now.

Vikings (7-2), Treasure: Sam Darnold has thrown multiple INTs in six games. This team is barely beating weak teams and feels like a house of cards that’s ready to collapse.

Packers (6-3), Trash: This team is OK, but they can’t beat their NFC North rivals. Just not seeing this team emerging from the NFC as the Super Bowl rep.

Commanders (7-3), Treasure: A one-point loss to the Steelers won’t derail our thought that this team and Jayden Daniels has a special feel to it. And aside from two games vs the Eagles, the rest of their schedule is very winnable. This team could very possibly finish 13-4, but can they win the NFC East over Philly?

Steelers (7-2), Treasure: Russell Wilson is one win away from overtaking Johnny Unitas for No. 11 in all-time wins. He’s got six TD passes against one INT, and the Steelers are leading the AFC North. Their home game against the Ravens on Sunday is epic.

Texans (6-4), Trash: This team has only one decent victory on its 2024 resume — 23-20 over the Bills on Oct. 6. In the last two weeks, they lost to the Jets and then blew a 23-7 lead against the Lions. Former rookie phenom C.J. Stroud just looks average now.

Chargers (6-3), Treasure: We said it earlier this year: Watch out for Jim Harbaugh and what he will do with the LAC. They’ve won three straight, they are giving up an average of 13 points per game and Justin Herbert has 11 TD passes against one INT. But the gauntlet now begins: home vs Bengals, home vs Ravens, at Falcons and at Chiefs. You read it here: Harbaugh will beat Reid on Sunday Night Football on Dec. 8.

Cardinals (6-4), Treasure: Kyler Murray is No. 2 in ESPN QBR, James Conner is 8th in rushing and the Cards have won four straight. Murray has all the tools to beat anyone, and head coach Jonathan Gannon is becoming one of the NFC’s top coaches.
