The stars of the 2024 college football season are ready to shine, ready to lead their teams to win after win after win and postseason magic.
But not for everyone. Some guys aren’t always going to deliver. Let’s take a look at a few guys from Week 0 Saturday that could turn your betting dollars into a bunch of hot garbage if you plunk bucks down on them.
DJ Uiagalelei (Florida State)
In his first season with the Seminoles after stints with Clemson and Oregon State, Uiagalelei undoubtedly will have some big games this season. But we’re saying he’s not so amazing against Georgia Tech in the season kickoff in Dublin, Ireland.
Uiagalelei has a 57-24 TD-to-INT ratio and a 59% completion percentage, which is pretty weak compared to the top tier of QBs in the nation.
DraftKings has Uiagalelei at +275 for throwing more than 275 yards and at +500 for 300 yards.
Brendon Lewis (Nevada)
DraftKings has the Wolfpack QB at a very juicy +850 to throw for more than 225 yards. We say he doesn’t, but it’s your money to throw into the hot garbage if you want!
Lewis will face SMU, whose defense last season was:
Tied for first in the nation in defensive touchdowns with five
- Third in sacks with 3.4 per game
- 12th in total defense
- 13th in pass defense
The Mustangs are coming off an 11-win season, while Nevada has a new coach in Jeff Choate after a 2-10 debacle.
