Could Curry Actually Become President?

Back in March, Golden Warriors living legend Stephen Curry said he’d consider politics — along with professional golf — among his post-NBA aspirations. ‘Politcs’? That could mean anything. City councilman. Governor. Senator. And yes, President of the United States.

No, Curry didn’t specifically mention the White House. But even if he did, would it really be that far-fetched? I mean, no one probably thought Donald Trump would reach the Oval Office, or that ‘The Terminator’ would be a two-term governor of California.

Let’s face it. With what we’ve witnessed this summer — Biden debate-flopping then race-exiting, Trump getting shot at, Kamala Harris going from VP to world rock star — we are a lot closer to ‘anything can and will happen’ territory when it comes to US politics.

And can anyone doubt that Curry can basically write his own script? Here’s a guy who had a nice college career at Davidson, then defied the critics to become the greatest outside shooter in history (and it’s no even close) and lead the Warriors to four NBA titles.

Curry’s got the brain, the work ethic, the savvy and the unshakeable brand that has elevated him his entire life.

At Davidson, the undersized Curry led the 10th-seeded Wildcats to upset victories over Gonzaga, Georgetown and Wisconsin to reach the Elite Eight before losing to No. 1-seeded Kansas by two points in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

Curry’s NBA exploits are well-known: four titles with the Dubs, two other Finals losses, two league MVP awards and the most three-point goals in history. His scores from the logo, can score with a vast array of long- and short-range shots and has only gotten better every season even though he’s now 36.

The Paris Olympics. In his first Games with Team USA, ‘Chef’ started the tournament slow but finished with eight threes and 24 points in the gold medal victory over France.

At the same time, Curry also scored with this comedy series ‘Mr Throwback’, which he produced and stars in. It was the Peacock’s No. 1 series two weeks ago.

So, when Curry says he wants to compete on the PGA Tour, don’t doubt him. If he ever says he’s running for the White House, it might be a good bet we’ll see a basketball hoop installed on the White House lawn!
