Thursday Night Trash Pile: 49ers @ Seahawks – Return of the NFC Worst

Welcome to a special edition of the Trash Pile for the upcoming game for the Thursday Night Football Match-up between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. This week in addition to the weekly Trash Pile article the Hot Garbage Crew is also doing a Live Stream on our social media channels at 5:15pm EST on X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitch.

Team Form

So lets get down to business and preview this match-up. While its still early in the season both teams are itching for a solid win. The Seahawks started the season 3-0, albeit being some really shitty teams like the Broncos, Patriots and a Tua-less Miami team. They then went into Detroit for an absolute fireworks laden shootout and let the Lions score 42 on the new look defense. They followed that up by losing a miserable game at home to the lowly New York Giants on a blocked FG attempt returned for a TD at the close of regulation.

The 49ers had a promising start to the season by beating a Aaron Rodgers led Jets team but then lost to a surprisingly good Vikings team and then chalking up some horrible losses to the Rams and Cardinals where they seemed to in a great position to win in the 4th quarter for both of those games.

Injury Report

The 49ers meanwhile have been dealing with the injury bug for most of the season, losing key guys on offense like Christian McCaffery with both George Kittle and Deebo Samuel getting banged up. On defense for this game they will be missing Charvarius Ward, Talanoa Hufanga and Demetrious Flannigan-Fowles.

The Seahawks offense is mostly healthy with the return Kenneth Walker III but like the 49ers are also very banged up on defense. They will be missing Riq Woolen, Uchenna Nwosu and Byron Murphy II. Julian Love who is going to be needed to stop the 9ers WR core is questionable.

My Player Props Betslip

First lets get to my player prop picks. Here’s a heater I have JSN being the first touchdown scorer on a slant or screen pass. Thats +1000 odds baby, bet $10 get $100. I think the Seahawks are going to get Noah Fant more involved in the offensive this game so i have over 23.5 receiving yards for him. Last Kenneth Walker III is just a force and he’s going to score a TD in this game.

My Trash Player Pick for the 49ers

I think Brock Purdy is going to be spreading it around but if they put Devon Witherspoon on Aiyuk, he’s going to get shut down so I have under 65.5 receiving yards for him. Note: The action has taken the yards down to 63.5.

My Game Predictions

This is going to be a close one, so I have Seahawks covering the 3.5 point spread. Pulled the homer move and I have Seahawks on the Moneyline, but really because I just can’t bring myself to bet for the 49ers to win ANYTHING. And I do think this is a shoot-out and both teams will cover that 49.5 Over.
