My Seahawks are 3-0 on the season and flying high into Ford Field to take on the up and coming Detroit Lions are at Ford Field. The new coaches for the Seattle Seahawks seem to have brought some much needed Xs and Os schematic discipline to the team while the Lions seek a signature win to keep their momentum from last year going into their 2024 season. Will this be a feast for the Lions or a nibble for the Seahawks? Let’s break it down.
Betting Odds Breakdown:
Call me a homer but I have the Seahawks on the spread here and the Unders. I think both teams are going to come out slow and the Lions will be confused with the newly installed Seahawks defense to start the game.
3 Player Prop Bets to Peck At
1. Jaxon Smith Njigba – Over 50.5 Yards Receiving
JSN is going to be running a bunch of unders and getting some YAC action. He has fly paper hands and he’s starting to come into his own in the new Jeremy Grubb offense.
2. DK Metcalf Under 65.5 Yards Receiving
Detroit is going to clamp down on DK Metcalf. He’s leaked out for long bombs too many times and Detroit is going to queue in on this.
3. Jahmyr Gibbs – Anytime TD
Even with the new coaching staff the Seahawks defense gets gouged by versatile RBs. Gibbs is going to either get a rushing TD or receiving TD.
Final Thoughts
It’s Monday Night Football—anything can happen, including a terrible performance from either team. But if you remember last year the Hawks went into Detroit and stole one ending with a Gino Smith led touchdown drive to Tyler Lockett to close the deal in OT. I expect two teams who are solid who can execute with more of a defensive battle until the 2nd half gets them going. But the first half will be both teams figuring out out to keep the Unders good.
Expect some claws and feathers to fly all over the place and the dejected Lions fanbase will be left wondering what they have to do for the ball will break their way as they always do every season.
